What we collect

When you enrol we collect your name, email address, billing country and the classes you buy. When you submit an assignment we store the artwork file, the instructor's paint-over and the written retake list attached to it.

We collect basic usage data — which modules were opened and how far a video was watched — because completion is defined by cleared retakes and we need a record of what was reviewed.

What we do not collect

We do not use advertising trackers, we do not build behavioural profiles, and we do not sell or rent student data to anyone. There is no third-party advertising pixel on this site.

Cookies

Two cookies are set: a session cookie that keeps you logged in, and a preference cookie that remembers caption and playback settings. Both expire when you log out or after ninety days, whichever comes first.

Processors we use

  • A payment processor, which receives your billing details directly — we never see full card numbers.
  • A video hosting provider, which receives playback requests tied to your account identifier.
  • An email provider, used for enrolment receipts and critique notifications.

Your artwork

Submitted artwork stays yours. We keep a copy while you are enrolled so instructors can compare revisions. We never publish student work publicly without written permission naming the specific piece; blanket consent at enrolment is not something we ask for.

Retention

Enrolment and payment records are kept for seven years for tax purposes. Artwork and critique records are deleted twenty-four months after your last active class, or immediately on request.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of everything we hold, ask for corrections, or ask for deletion. Write to admissions@linesurge.example and we will respond within thirty days. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
